Geoff Hardy has drawn on five generations of viticultural experience to develop techniques for producing consistent ultra premium fruit. Various trellis systems are employed to maximize sunlight onto leaves and fruit, these include single and double cordon with a ballerina style canopy. The trellis system in the vineyard is carefully chosen for each section depending on the soil type, variety and style of wine for which the grapes will be used.

The Quality of the fruit is well recognised by Geoff Hardy's neighbours in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale, with many winemakers in these regions purchasing grapes for their own wines. Geoff's favourite areas of the vineyard continue to be used in his super premium 'K1' range.

Recognition has also come in other forms with the Kuitpo Vineyard winning the inaugural 'Vineyard of the Year' competition in 1990, this was followed by the 1993 Geoff Hardy Kuitpo Shiraz winning the inaugural 'Qantas Great Australian Shiraz Challenge in 1995'. The judges, James Halliday, Brian Croser and Geoff Merrill awarded this wine, the only gold in this competition, which included 114 of the best Australian Shiraz.

Since this time there have been numerous accolades awarded to the Geoff Hardy and 'K1' range, including trophies and many gold, silver and bronze medals.
