K1 Pinot Noir 2009 New Release
Adelaide Hills cool-climate Pinot Noir has long been regarded as the best S.A. can produce. The K1 vines are of low yield and are pruned to arched canes for extra light interception on the fruit and optimum balance. Hand harvesting the fruit ensures that the grapes are in top condition for their traditional vinification.
Embodying the exuberance of S.A. and the refined grace of the Adelaide Hills, the 2009 K1 Pinot Noir dances onto center stage in the spirit of celebration. Blessed with an exceptional vintage and barrelaged for 8 months in French barriques, this wine exhibits optimum varietal characteristics and balanced oak complexity.
Aromas of cherry and spice attract the senses while hints of baked quince and plums delight the palate. Always a charmer, the lingering finish and supple body of the K1 pinot noir compliment the complexity and velvety tannins found in each bottle. Pair with a local favorite such as wild duck or enjoy a glass or two with family and friends.
Further cellaring of 5-10 years will bring out the savoury and earthy characters synonymous with high-quality Pinot's.
