Geoff Hardy Finalist - Winemaker of the Year and Winery of the Year

K1 in the spotlight - K1 by Geoff Hardy is on a roll

Boutique, individual and ultra premium and now finalist in the Winestate Wine of the Year Awards in two categories. Firstly in the Winemaker of the Year category and secondly as Wine Company of the year. According to Winestate this places K1 by Geoff Hardy in their top 5 Australian Winemakers for 2007 as well as one of the top 5 wineries for 2007.

This is yet another milestone for our brand says Chief Executive Geoff Hardy, particularly when looking at the vast competition of about 2,200 wineries in Australia. The Wine Company of the year was chosen from the highest results achieved from the top five wines entered by any winery.

The K1 branding is only seven years young but the Kuitpo Vineyards (K1 signifying the first vineyard in the Kuitpo region) is located in the southern Adelaide Hills and was established in 1987 with cool climate viticulture foremost in mind. An innovative selection of clones, pruning styles and canopy management have been utilized to constantly improve quality.

These creative viticultural techniques have provided ideal conditions for ultra premium fruit. Geoff Hardy beams "the quality and consistency of Adelaide Hills is on a steady rise with the age of the vines, especially for lesser grown reds - Shiraz and Cabernet from the warmer micro-climates in the region".

Time to get your hands on one of the outstanding wines in the portfolio!
